But where I can understand the long processes involved in sorting out the Teutenberg heads and Te Toki a Tapiri (yes, the museum were informed of both these) -- the Avondale Spider one does appear a case of a quick error of assumption, and is now to be thrown into the pot of long, long processes for correction.

Measure twice, cut once, is an old saying. It looks a lot more like a white tail than the characteristic huntsman. And why they have it in a web more suited to say an orb weaving spider is wrong too. Once the curators have written out the panels, and have had them printed up for visitors to read, there is no going back. I really can't take anything put up at their displays as correct info anymore, without independently checking. Somewhere along the line, history is getting scrambled, and rather badly.
Timespannerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11990716041045862669noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4466403878576837579.post-25941917435566031522013-08-11T20:35:15.412+12:002013-08-11T20:35:15.412+12:00Surely any museum worth its salt would be horrifie...Surely any museum worth its salt would be horrified to have incorrect information and immediately cover up until corrections could be made.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
