Rounding off July: I find myself intrigued by three hunks of wood bolted together and left at the side of the eastbound track at Avondale Train Station.
I can't quite make out what these pieces were once part of. Any suggestions, gratefully appreciated.
It almost looks like the buffers you see at the end of a rail line, at the terminus, but I'm assuming there's none near there?
ReplyDeleteAndrew will probably know ;)
I think it's a buffer as well. I can soon pop down the road to the old Maungaturoto Line there and have a look and see if there is anything similar. I'd say Jayne is right. I'd be interest to see what Andrew does say about it.
ReplyDeleteI can't recall Avondale having any buffers, but that's a darn good suggestion.
